National Tree Day
Latrobe Catchment Landcare Network has been running National Tree Days since 2017 with heavy involvement from local school groups and the wider community.
National Tree Day is a call to action for all Australians to put their hands in the earth and give back to their community. Each year, about 300,000 people volunteer their time to engage in environmental activities that educate individuals about the world around them. It's a day to venture outdoors and get to know your community, and most importantly, to have fun!
Since 2017 nearly 8000 trees have been planted along the Gippsland Plains Rail Trail with the assistance of local school students and schools from across the Latrobe Valley.
LCLN has held a number of events with the following schools;
Glengarry Primary School
St. Paul's Anglican Grammar School
Lavalla Catholic College
Grey Street Primary School
Cowwarr Primary School
Toongabbie Primary School
St Michaels Primary School
